Arsenal has reportedly withdrawn from the pursuit of Malick Fofana due to the €40 million asking price, which the North London club considers excessive, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners are unwilling to meet the current valuation for the player.

Romano states that unless a different structure or more favourable conditions for a transfer can be established, Arsenal will cease their interest in Fofana. This indicates a firm stance from the club regarding their transfer budget and player valuations.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are actively engaged in negotiations for Malick Fofana. The Championship club is in talks with both the player's camp and his current club, OL (Olympique Lyonnais), with Sunderland reportedly very keen on securing his services, as previously reported by Sky Sports' Keith.
